Microfume® Refractories White

Amorphous light grey silicon oxide powder, obtained by filtering the dust extracted from silicon metal production in an electric arc furnace.

Microfume® Refractories White has a high SiO₂ content, a very low impurity level and a stable pH. Its use in low-cement refractory castables improves their rheology: better flow and ease of use, their mechanical properties (hot strength in particular) and their durability (through permeability reduction).

Its light colour, its stability (non-crystalline state) to temperatures of 1200°C and its good sintering properties make it also a raw material perfectly adapted for ceramics.
